07

OK have to write entry before May Day because reasons. I'll first write shortly of other things and then rest of the entry is dedicated to this spring's cosplays.

So last Friday I was home alone and I was bit bored and stuff so I dyed my hair to orange and cut it little.

...true beauty & crappy web camera quality...

I had silver hair before but since there aren't any pictures of my hair there here have another quality web camera picture:

ew

I also missed playing TERA so much that I started playing WoW again...It was poor substitute though. But well thanks to other players who were entertaining me by trying to fuck with me with really bad grammar my night wasn't too boring. In the end firsts quests sucks and if WoW really is trying to get more people play WoW with that starter package...well you know it kinda sucks so I don't think it will work. Oh well whatever.

And now it's time for cosplay rant: I ditched school on Tuesday and Wednesday and started sewing Yukimura's (Sengoku Basara) jacket. And there are no enough words to describe how much I hate sewing leather. I still have so much to do and only 6 weeks time....

It's actually darker red irl

Week ago Saturday I decided to test my Howl (Howl's moving Castle) costume. That awesome moment when you have your costume ready 2 weeks before convention. Too bad that my friend Ada can't get Sophie done it would have been awesome to photo shoot together but... well no can do.

It was hard try to take picture with that jacket on

Also my cosplay plans for Kikucon changed radically. I was supposed to make Akemi Homura from Puella Magi Madoka Magica but now it's seems like that we will have DOGS: Bullets & Carnage photo shoot and on second day I'll cosplay Yamada Akira Agarkar from Tsuritama. It's going to be interesting because even thought his clothes itself are easy to make, I need to paint my face, neck and hands to brown. I already did small test with my super brown foundation (don't ask why I have it in first place I don't have any idea myself either). It worked fine so I'll next style my wig, get proper fabric for my turban and do something to those eyebrows of mine etc.

Nigga stole my bike/ I just made turban of my own scarf lol

There are only week to Tampere Kuplii anymore! I'm probably going to be there only on Saturday because I want to have some quality time with Linde too aka lay on her floor and derp.

06 - Anime Reviews -

Now when I have watched quite many first episodes of this season's new anime shows I'm going to write something about them, my opinions may still change because all of this shows has just begun. No need to be butthurt these are just my opinions lol.

Accel World

"The Year is 2046. Haruyuki Arita is young boy who finds himself on the lowest social rungs of this school. Ashamed of his miserable life, Haruyuki can only cope by indulging in virtual games. But that all changes when Kuroyukihime, the most popular girl in school, introduces him to a mysterious program called Brain Burst and a virtual reality called the Accel World

Not sure if I like. I mean, first I thought that "yes maybe I can relate to Haruyuki since I'm same: Reality is pain and I would like to live in virtual game world", but no. Plot has not offered anything new since this far, if you don't count fatty main character. Accel World is real pain to watch sometimes, but one does not simply drop anime where is Kaji Yuki. For example yesterday (?) 4th episode came out but I have tried to avoid watching it because I found it rather boring. I have heard from people who have read the manga that it is really good, but since this far this have been nothing but disappointment. One thing which is also bothering me is main character girl's name: Kuroyukihime... Darksnowprincess, really now. Animation is OK and there is good combo of seiyuus: One pretty famous and couple not so famous ones.

I really hope that this will get more interesting soon but right now it feels only like waste of time.

Acchi Kocchi

"Wouldn't you just love to poke in a relationship between to young high schoolers who have subtle distance between each other? Of course you would. Tsumiki and Io have this subtle distance that anyone would want to jump in between to bug them. That's what the other characters are there for. Tsumiki, being a tsundere and all, won't be honest about her feelings toward Io. Io on the other hand is unaware of Tsumiki's feelings, hence the subtle distance the two."

Like summary says: Life-of-slice anime with cute animation of everyday life of 5 high school students with hopeless crushes; nothing new, nothing surprising at least in 4 first episodes I watched. For some this might work but not for me: jokes are too lame and I feel like hitting Tsumiki and shouting "Just confess already argh!". Maybe this is made for younger watchers. Only reason why I even bothered to watch this is because one of my favorite seiyuus is voicing Io: Okamoto Nobuhiko. Compared to other romance/slice-of-life animes I have watched this is just cute and boring.

Hiiro no Kakera

" The protagonist is a teenage girl (Tamaki) who revisits a small village, she remembers from her childhood and gets caught up in her family's history and supernatural dangers surrounding it.

While walking along the hillsides waiting for the person who her grandmother sent to fetch Tamaki to village, Tamaki comes across a small, white round object with sticks for limbs and talks. It runs off soon after, with Tamaki chasing after it. Soon Tamaki finds herself in a place where 'it doesn't feel like the world I came from'. She gets attacked by three slime creatures, and a male comes charging in to save her - by clamping his hands around her body and mouth an telling her to be quiet. "

Hiiro no Kakera is made from otome game and therefore it's surprise, surprise a harem anime. Main character woman is clumsy and always in trouble, but hey no need to worry! Luckily there are enough good-looking male characters ready to save her. Animation and character design reminds me lot of Hakouki Shinsengumi Kitan, which I only watched because handsome male characters, well this time I'm sure I'll drop this right after watching first episode (expect I already watched two episodes lol). Main character girl is just way too annoying, even thought plot itself seems to be OK and male characters are well typical male characters from otome games. I mean come on, this girl accidentally bumps into someone and faints...and all guys are like "omg have to save her omg"... no, no just no.

Hyouka

" Oreki Hotari is minimalistic high school boy. One day, he joins the Classic Literature Club ad his elder sister's request.
There he meets Chitanda Eru and Ibara Mayaka. His friend Fukube Satoshi, his lifetime friend, also joins the club. Chitanda is a calm beautiful girl but she turns into an embodiment of curiosity once she says; ' I'm interested in it (watashi, kininarimasu)'. Fukube is smiling boy with a fantastic memory, who calls himself a database. Ibara is a short girl and is strict with others and herself. She loves Fukube, but he always dodges her approaches.
They begin to investigate a case that occurred 33 years ago. Hints of the mystery are buried in an old collection of works of the former members of Classics Club. The collection is titled 'Hyouka' "

First episode came last week and...wow I'm interested! Animation was good and there were parts when I just stared the screen because it was so beautiful. Only three characters were introduced on first episode but I wait really eagerly to see more. This is one of the most promising animes of this season and if you like mystery genre you should check this out! I can't wait to see next episode! I'm not sure if this will be horror mystery like for example Another was but I kinda hope it would be, I have thing for dark themed animes.
/Sorry of really short preview but after watching only one episode I can't say much.

Natsuiro Kiseki

" Natsumi, Saki, Yuka and Ringo are best friends. They've grown up in an old agricultural town, experiencing everything together, bot happy and sad. But one summer, they are visited by a miracle."

Natsuiro Kiseki is slice-of-life anime with magic on it. Girls accidentally find out that huge rock in shrine's yard has magical powers and if two or more of them wish same thing, rock will fulfill their wish. Somehow I thought that this would be boring so I'm kinda surprised that at least for me this hasn't been boring yet. It somehow reminds me of Hanasaku Iroha, which is one of the best slice-of-life animes I have watched. It's nothing too special but it is perfect for lazy Sundays when you just want to lay on your bed, eat candy and watch easy-going anime!

Nazo no Kanojo X

" When the oddly peculiar Mikoto Uabe transfers into Akira Tsubaki's class, he finds that life has thrown him int the weirdest curve ball ever. Because while Urabe may be an anti-social loner who sleeps on her desk, carries pair of scissors in her underwear and breaks out in sudden fits of insane laughter, there's something about her that Tsubaki can't quite put his finger on. Until he accidentally puts his finger in it, and suddenly the phrase "sharing spit with a girl" takes on an entirely new meaning! Before he can wipe her drool off his face, Tsubaki is mysteriously addicted to Urabe, which isn't half as strange as the fact that she not only finds this normal, but already seems to have plans for her new drooling boyfriend. "

Well OK...how I should say this... Just what the fuck I just watched. Well this is really indeed something you don't see everyday but I'm not sure if it's good thing. Mostly it was just weird as fuck and disgusting. First of all main character guy is having really slimy dream and couple days after new weird classmate Mikoto has appeared, he goes and tastes Mikoto's drool... Who do this seriously ew. He got really bad fever and only swallowing Mikoto's drool again he will survive from it. Well they repeat this drool feeding couple times and then Akira goes and confesses to Mikoto that he likes her...after hearing that Mikoto starts drooling so much that it makes pool to the ground. I couldn't watch all parts and I skipped a lot. If you like weird stuff like this, then this is like made for you but... well I like to see new things but this was way too weird to me and I'm not sure if I'll be brave enough to watch next episode.

Sakamichi no Apollon

" The beginning of summer, 1966.
Because of his father's job situation, freshman high school student Kaoru Nishimi moves by himself from Yokosuka to Kyoushu to live with relatives. Until then, Kaoru was an honor roll student who tended to keep to himself, but meeting notorious bad boy Sentaro Kawabuchi starts to change him. Through his devil-may-care classmate, Kaoru leanrs the attractions of Jazz and finds the first person he can call a 'friend'. He also discovers how much fun it is to play music with a pal.

Other characters include Sentaro's kind childhood chum, Ritsuko, who is the daughter of a record shop owner; the mysterious upperclassman, Yukrika; and Brother Jun, the much-admired leader among their peers. Set against the backdrop of a seaside town with a scent of American culture, this series is a drama about young people coming into their own, crossing each other's paths, and finding friendship, love and music! "

Sakamichi no Apollon is also one of my favorite animes of this season. Animation is different from what I'm used to watch, but it is really clear and beautiful and suits really well to plot. Plot seems to be really absorbing, and I can sense that there will be really touching and sad moments as well as moments what brings smile to your face. I really like all of the characters which have introduced since this far too, especially Sentaro who is otherwise so intent and active but when he is trying to talk to girl he likes he goes really awkward and unsure of everything. I can imagine that people who are more into playing and creating music themselves can relate more to both Sentaro and Kaoru and to their enthusiasm of playing Jazz-music. I have no enough words to describe this anime, if you haven't checked this out yet, I recommend you to do it asap.

Sankarea

" Furuya's not interested in the living, he's got zombies on the brain! When Furuya's cat dies, he decides he's going to try and bring it back to life. In the process, he stumbles across a girl whose failed attempted suicide has turned her into a real zombie! What's Furuya going to do now when the thing he loves the most is right in front of his eyes? "

I bet it is needless to say how excited I got when I noticed that there is going to be zombie anime in this season? Sankarea is not like most of the zombie movies or animes, it's not about zombie apocalypse like Highschool of the Dead, it's story of girl who dies trying to escape from her own depraved family and life by committing suicide, but something goes wrong. And story of boy who is big fan of zombies and isn't interested of living chicks and how one day his dreams of zombie romance is coming true. It's quite refreshing story and I bet it's easy and nice to watch for people who doesn't like zombies otherwise. Furuya and Rea are going to meet lots of problems, for example: how to stop Rea's body for rotting and turning into skeleton? And there are enough room for humor and romance too, so Sankarea is not typical horror/zombie anime. There is rather much ecchi moments, but those aren't as disturbing as in HOTD. For me this is one of favorites of this season too, always after watching newest episode I feel like running and shouting "I need to see more! Can't wait till next week!". Not typical zombie anime, but really good!

Tsuritama

" You can't catch fish if you don't go fishing, and you can't make friends if you don't at least try. Which is how relationship-challenged student Yuki finds himself on a fishing trip to a tiny island with three other boys he barely knows. Well, two other boys and Haru, who claims that he's an alien. Not that constantly stewing Natsuki or mysterious Akira are any more likely as prospects for good companionship. But there's something about fishing that makes it unlike any other pastime, and maybe that quiet sense of companionship and hopeful expectation is just what Yuki needs to start charting the unfamiliar waters of personal connections. Or maybe it will turn out that Haru's right and they're going to have to save the entire planet. There are lots of different kind of fishing stories, from the "ones that got away" to the "best catches ever", but whichever way the currents of life take them, for young men, this trip may turn out to be the biggest whopper ever! "

If I should describe Tsuritama with three words those would be; weird, funny and colorful. Main character Yuki doesn't know how to act properly in social situations and usually ends up panicking. I like how they have animated the moment when Yuki starts to panic, it looks like he would drown to deep water which is only around him and his face twists to ugly facial expression. Yuki and his grandma moves to new town again and suddenly there is blonde really lively boy, Haru, who claims Yuki to be his friend. And before Yuki even realizes it, he is trying to caught something by fishing in order to save a planet. Tsuritama is full of colors which supports animation and character design, which is rather unique too, I mean Akira has duck with him all the time... and duck's name is Tapioca. I'm really sure this will turn out to be nice anime about friendship and well...fishing. I don't really know what to say about this but I suggest everyone to check this yourself, in my opinion Tsuritama seems to be really enjoyable anime!

Uchuu Kyoudai

" Once upon a time there were two bothers, Hibito and Mutta. Hibito, the little brother, had been blessed with good luck since the day he was born. Mutta, the elder, had always had bad luck. One day, looking up at the night sky, the two brothers saw a UFO. This experience made them both promise to become astronauts.
In the year 2025, Hibito has kept his promise and is an astronaut who is part of the first wave of people to live for an extender period of time on the moon. Meanwhile, his older brother Mutta has been fired from his job and is unemployed, but a message from his brother makes him decide to start being an astronaut again.
Unaware of his own talent, elder brother Mutta chases his dreams to get back in front of his younger brother. 32-years-old Mutta will attempt the astronaut candidate examinations to follow his brother Hibito to the moon believing the words "the older brother should always be ahead of the younger one... "

I find Uchuu Kyoudai really interesting, it has somehow realistic plot and animation. It is interesting to follow how Mutta takes different kind of tests in order to become an astronaut. For most people this can get boring, there are no typical bishounen main characters, no fabulous plot with neither fighting nor too much romance and subject can be uninteresting for people who doesn't care of space or astronauts. I can sense that Uchuu Kyoudai has meant for older watchers. Jokes are OK, I'm not laughing my ass off all the time but sometimes I can't help but laugh to Mutta and to his blundering. I look forward to see will Mutta make it and will he get ahead of his little brother. I don't even know why I like of this as much as I do, this isn't nothing like animes I usually like, haha.

Zetman

" The story starts off with a face-off between two rival heroes, ZET and ALPHAS, and then traces their origins - Jin Kanzaki, a young man with the ability to transform into a superhuman being known as ZET, and Kouga Amagi, a young man with a strong sense of justice who uses technology to fight as ALPHAS.
The fates of these two men and those around them interwine as they fight to protect mandkind and destroy monstrous abominations know as Players, who ironically are the creations of the Amagi Corporation, the company founded bu Kouga's grandfater, Mitsugai Amagi. "

First things first; Seiyuu combo of Zetman is amazing, so many great seiyuus and couple of my personally favorites as well, aww yeah. But I have really hard time with deciding will Zetman be best anime for awhile or not. Animation is good, plot seems interesting and fights scenes are well done and planned. Character's designs are also rather good-looking. Zetman is really melodramatic. I'm not sure if it's bad or good thing thought. Somehow it suits to Zetman, but enough is enough and I really hope that they won't ruin good plot with being too melodramatic. I haven't read the Zetman manga but I have heard how people who have read it are saying that anime don't follow manga at all. What I fear the most what comes to Zetman is...that the ending will be too rushed. There are going to be only 13 episodes. For anime like this it's not enough. So many otherwise good animes has been ruined with rushed ending or leaving too much important things away. It's more like rule than exception that ending will be the disappointment. It's sad to see how good anime will fall only because reason like that and I'm pretty sure that it will happen to Zetman too.

Hurdur I can't believe how long it took to write this, I have read it again and again and again and tried to fix as many as possible grammar mistakes, but I'm still sure that there are more than enough of them still. And there are new animes I still haven't watched like Medusa Box and Jormungand, but well this is enough for now. I'll maybe do full reviews later when animes are ending or something.

05 - TERA -

This entry is going to be dedicated to TERA only! First I thought of writing of new anime shows of this season too but then decided that I'll do own entry for that later, because otherwise this entry would be too long + too image heavy. So TERA only this time.

So there were Open Beta on TERA from April 19 to April 23. I missed first days because of our trip to Estonia but I played like crazy rest of the days and I need to say: I'm in love. I'm not that much into MMORPGs and all my experience of these kinds of games rests on WoW and Forsaken World.
Fighting combat of TERA is pure awesomeness and environment was so beautiful and just unf. I can't wait until full game is launched.

I'm just gonna dump some screen shots I took here, so enjoy (click picture for getting it bigger)

My moe uguu Elin. So cute ;A;

Second character. No homo.

Pretty environment is pretty.

Let me show you dance of my people lol

Second outfit!

leaving from Island of Dawn

This is only screen shot from Velika.

OK I have still more screen shots but I think these will do for now.

TERA will be the pay to play game and it will cost about 13€ per month + starting payment. It is much for someone who is poor like me, but dude how can I live without anymore when I have once tried it. If I understood right Korean and Japanese servers are free to play thought.

Beta ended today 1 am and after server went down I felt really empty suddenly. Almost felt like crying when I thought that my beautiful babies got wiped away, haha. Well maybe I will remake them to actual game then!

You know you are Finnish when you go to Estonia just to get cheap alcohol, right? Well you know you are Finnish alcoholic cosplayer when you go to Estonia just to get cheap alcohol and fabric. So guess where I was last Friday? Yes we went to Tallinn with Pico to get cheap alcohol, food and fabric.

It was epic adventure yes. I woke up 4 am so we could catch our ship which left from Helsinki 8 am. I woke up 4 hours earlier and still we were late and we had to run and they needed to open the doors again just for us too lol.
8D

We were at Tallinn around 11 am and first thing we did: got lost. After some derping and herping we find our way to Viru keskus and from there one really nice old Estonian lady showed us the way to fabric store. It was confusing how well some Estonians are talking Finnish. Best thing is: I found my perfect dark red leather I have been searching from everywhere to my Sanada Yukimura (Sengoku Basara) cosplay. I bought 3 meters and it costed only 10€ when in Finland that much would have costed at least 30€.

Next we went back to Viru keskus to buy some food and check some stores. I couldn't find any clothes (well lol we weren't really searching either) but I found these:

Why they can't sell these in Finland too ;A; Milka chocolate is best chocolate

TASUJADDDD! lol what

I really want to go to photo shoot cosplays to Tallinn someday these buildings <3

Well rest of the time we used for buying alcohol. I really wanted that green Saku long drink I bought last time when I was there so we visited at least 4 different shops before finding it. Thanks god there are so many huge alcohol stores near port thought.

Our ship left from Tallinn 4:30 pm and it was around 8pm at Helsinki. We both had way too heavy bags and we were really exhausted so...we "lent" shopping cart we found and used it to carry our bags to tram stop lol.

haha sorry Pico!

I was home around 10 pm and oh geez how tired I was. Also I found out that I actually have some leg and arm muscles...or at least according this pain I have. But anyway there is everything I bought, expect that safari long drink which I drunk on our way back to Finland:

One of the bigger Smirnoff Ice bottles and that huge Gin bottle I bought to Linde thought.

And now I shall go to finish my Howl cosplay and maybe even start sewing Yukimura's jacket ~

03

OK maybe writing blog was good idea. I mean I have already started to forgot what happened beginning of the week lol.

Anyways we only had school from Tuesday to Thursday and I couldn't get much anything done. Well Howl's jacket is now done and I started making Yukimura's leg armors too. Also I tried my best to caught up with this seasons new anime series and gotta say that Sankarea and Sakamichi no Apollon are currently the best ones. I still should watch Zetman because it's full of awesome voice actors. But enough of that for now, gonna talk more about this later maybe.

On Friday we went to watch Iron Sky with my brother. It was awesome! I mean hey space Nazis attacking from the moon? Of course it's awesome!

My brother feat his 5 cheeseburgers.

We have this tradition McDonalds -> movie -> game shops -> home and it was pretty much like that this time too. When we came back home there were small "surprise" waiting for us. Dad and his brother tried to cut some branches from the tree next to our house when suddenly their car (idk what I should call it) refused to work and dad was stuck in there. Well my dad luckily is ninja (lol) so he managed to jump to roof of our house.  That car was there couple days until they got it fixed.

lol at my dad

On Saturday I went to Kepa's housewarming parties and I can say that I don't even remember when last time I had that much fun and when last time I was that drunk...well OK I do remember. I don't even remember much anything from the night and pictures I took where mostly blurry or dark...and mostly of people wearing that fabulous ES suit lol.

Hostess Kepa, fabulous ES "suit" and Heidi.

Sunday morning

I hardly ever have actual hangover but well I woke up around 9 am and well...ES suit took some damage when I rushed to WC and well I'm sure you guess what I mean. We just lied on the beds/mattress and had retarded jokes of my awesome Moomin pillow I took with me. I had my godchild's birthday parties and I'm really glad that he is only 3 years old. I must have looked like hobo and reeked of old alcohol and puke. Red Cat you traitor why I can't ever remember how fucking horrible hangover you get if you drink whole bottle + some booze. Not gonna repeat that mistake anytime soon.

They are watching you. Judging you. Staring straight to your soul!!

I'm going to dedicate whole next week & weekend to making cosplays even thought I had fun I had more than enough of socializing for next 2 weeks.

02

Hi guys, I returned to my blog sooner than I expected because aaa I have so much things to show!

I got something really nice last Tuesday, you can probably guess what it is

lol we were too excited to search scissors or knife...

So tadaa here is my 3rd computer! Now I have one laptop for school use, one for other use and PC for gaming.

my new love ♥

Added more fans to my brother's PC too.

My room is rather small so at the moment I can't use my PC tho (╥_╥) I don't have enough space for table. But hopefully we will get apartment soon so I can play, wait what. I been planning of buying new TV so I could use it as screen, and I really need better TV for PS3 and PS2 I really hate my old fat CRT TV.

Also I have made some progress what comes to my cosplays for this spring/summer. I'm cosplaying Howl from Howl's Moving Castle at Tampere Kuplii (5.5.2012) and I have almost got his jacket done.

Herpderp ugly jacket is ugly

I run out of fabric but I'll go tomorrow to fabric store to get rest of the materials. Should iron it, cut strings etc.
Also because I'm badass and ditched school on Thursday too, I had time to test my wig and contact lenses for my Sanada Yukimura (Sengoku Basara) cosplay. I'm going to make three versions of Yukimura to Desucon (8.-10.6.2012); Gakuen Basara version, Normal version and Hakama version.

Ooh Mr. WC-paper ooh

Next weekend is my friend's housewarming parties and we are planning of going to Estonia with Linde someday soon so there are going to be lot to update. From where I suddenly got social life seriously.

/ long entry is long. Now off to have some quality time with my PS3.

01

Well hello world.
So I decided to make new blog since Irc-galleria is dead, facebook is full of stupid people, tumblr or Deviantart are not proper place for shit like this and twitter has annoying 140 characters limit. I thought that I would benefit from writing blog: maybe I would remember stuff later, I have really bad memory so it would be nice to come back and read what has happened later and then maybe just maybe I would take more pictures again.

Starting and introducing yourself is always hardest part of everything. I'm still trying my best and make small introduce of me and this blog.

About me

Pedro / 20 / Finland

Anime / Manga / Games / Cosplay / Photography

I'm socially awkward and clumsy. I'm horrible cook. I'm cosplayer and I have been active cosplayer since 2009. I like cats. I'm currently studying Game Industry in Helsinki Business College and I graduated last year from Helsinki Upper Secondary School of Visual Arts. I like alcohol. I'm lazy as fuck. I'm bishounen wait what.

I don't actually have hair like that anymore lol.

About this blog

I'm pretty sure I'm mostly going to post about my life, about anime I have watched, manga I have read and games I have been playing. Also pretty sure that I'm going to dump Cosplay work-in-process pictures and results of photo shoots. So this is going to be personal blog full of personal shit no one cares how unexpected lol.

Oh about that header, there is Tatsuhiro Satou from Welcome to the N.H.K. Why him? Because it's almost shocking and sad how much I can identify with him. Also I was too lazy to actually draw something. People who follow me on Tumblr must know that I quite often use his pictures as reaction pictures.

That's pretty much everything for now.
